How the calculation works
Share’s hanging weight × price per unit
+ fixed charges − paid deposit = balance before tax
The sample starts at 312.500 lb and $6.25 per lb. That produces $1,953.125 of beef, rounded to $1,953.13. Add $35 in fixed charges and subtract a $300 deposit: the resulting balance is $1,688.13 before tax.
Weight accepts up to three decimal places; money accepts two. The calculation rounds the meat amount to the nearest cent, with half cents rounded up. It does not round each pound separately.
Use only the amounts that belong on your bill
Enter the hanging weight for the customer’s quarter, half, or whole share. If the processor gave you a whole carcass weight, confirm the share allocation before entering it. This is a price calculator, not a forecast of packaged meat yield.
Include fixed charges your farm collects, such as a known per-share option fee. Leave out charges the processor bills directly. The deposit field is the credit actually available against this share, not necessarily the original listed deposit price.
Taxes, coupons, prior refunds, and other order adjustments need review in your store. The tool does not determine tax treatment, charge a customer, save an invoice, or convert between currencies and units.
