Sell bulk beef through your WooCommerce store.

Start with a deposit product

Create a simple WooCommerce product for each share you sell, such as a quarter or half beef reservation. Use the deposit as the checkout price. In the description, state the share, the agreed price per lb or kg of hanging weight, what processing is included, and how the remaining amount will be billed.

With Bulk Beef enabled on that product, select the processor template, share, weight unit, and per-unit price. Set stock to the number of reservations you can actually accept. The current plugin uses simple products with one share per product per order.

Keep estimates clearly labeled. If a customer sees a deposit of $300, they should not have to guess whether that buys the whole share. This deposit guide covers the details to explain before checkout.

Use payment as the handoff to the cut sheet

Your existing WooCommerce gateway takes the farm’s deposit payment. Once the order is paid, Bulk Beef creates the reservation and sends the customer a private cut-sheet link. An unpaid bank-transfer order on hold does not trigger that paid-deposit handoff.

The customer chooses cuts, sees any fixed surcharges and incompatible choices, then signs. The customer, farm, and configured processor receive a standardized PDF. Your farm keeps the customer sheet and order information in its WordPress database.

Prepare the template with the processor before accepting orders. The template checklist helps organize the questions without requiring a customer to understand the original PDF’s shorthand.

Enter the share’s weight and review the invoice

After signing and weighing, enter the actual hanging weight allocated to that customer’s share. Bulk Beef multiplies it by the recorded per-unit price, includes selected fixed surcharges, and accounts for the deposit when preparing the balance order.

Review the WooCommerce order’s tax treatment and total before sending the customer payment invoice. The customer pays through the store’s existing gateway. A per-pound processor bill collected by the processor stays separate from the farm’s invoice.

Run one complete test before opening reservations

• Use your gateway’s test mode to pay the deposit.
• Open the private cut-sheet email on a phone and sign a sample.
• Check the PDF and delivery to the intended test recipients.
• Enter a sample share weight and compare the balance with your own calculation.
• Open and pay the balance invoice in test mode.
